Middle school oh how the years fly by. Brok is in 8th grade this year and Paytan and Manuel (my nephew) are in 6th grade. Brok was excited and Paytan was pretty nervous until we went and found all her classrooms and she got her locker combination down. Both of them had a great day in school and I was even able to get them out of bed at 6:15.
I am not sure who was more excited school was starting. Mom or the kids. This year Tyler and Taylor (Tys friend) are in the 4th grade. Jace is starting Kindergarten and a little nervous. Their day went great and I got them off to school for a second day. I have realized how the time flies even when all my kids are at school and I am home cleaning. Never enough hours in the day.

Sound of Music
Last night Becky,Aurora and I went to The Sound of Music at Tuacahn. They did a wonderful job. It brought back lots of memories for me since I played the nun Sophia when I was in high school. I remember after one of our practices 3 of us nuns decided to go grab a snack on our way we saw the missionaries driving in their car. We followed them in my car and when we finally got them to stop they said they saw a car full of nuns chasing them and they didn't know what to do so they went to one of the bishops house before they would get out. We laughed so hard and told them we were just doing a musical. Another time actually the last night of our performance all the nuns including the Reverend Mother loaded up in my little Mazda 626 and went to the Oasis casino. Reverend Mother walked in front of us and we followed suit. People were hiding their cigarettes and beer and doing the cross thing. One person even bowed at Mothers feet. We got out of the Casino and fell to the ground laughing. It was the funniest thing we had ever see. Probably not the most proper thing to do but Mama Bennett sure had a good laugh when we told her. OH the good times.
I found this in my scrapbook along with some of our cast pictures but I couldn't get them to scan clearly.
Becky, Aurora and Myself at Tuacahn
Gino had my yard landscaped for my birthday but we had them do all of it around a bike/motorcycle track so the kids can still ride in the backyard on the little 50s. This is what Jace wanted to do on the evening of his birthday so we all went out and rode motorcylces/quads. Gino loves this picture we took of them when they were done riding. It turned our pretty cute.
My summer project
Ok so I went to this yard sale awhile ago and found this beautiful table and 6 chairs that have adjustable recline postions for very cheap. I figure what the heck I can stain that and make it look like new again. So it was alittle more time consuming than I thought but it is looking pretty good. I am having alittle trouble getting the arm rests to be smooth and not splinter. Does anyone have any suggestions? Here are pictures of before and after.

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY JACE!!
Jace has brought our family so much joy! Being the youngest he has always been malled and he has accepted it quite well. I still remember holding him in my arms at the hospital just a few hours old. Him and I spent the evening and the night all by ourselves. I love those first moments we were up all night talking (or aleast I was). You sure listened well though. What a hard time I had bringing you into this world but it was worth it. WE LOVE YOU JACERMAN!!
Kason, Brok and Wyett
Brok,Wyett, and Kason have been riding their motorcycles everday for the last week. They leave about 5 in the evening and ride till the sun starts to go down. I love these boys. They are so awesome. All 3 of them are very respectful when they ride through the neighborhoods. They have a great time and come back with lots of interesting stories. Its hard to see my first born grow into a man but it is also very exciting to watch him be so independent and outgoing. I cherish these days.
My Spoiled Babies
I was out working in the yard the other morning and my turtles were following me around like cats. Which happens quite often. I spoil them rotten and talk to them all the time. The biggest is Myrtle who eats pretty much anything. Angelica or her nickname Jellybean is the smaller one. She is very spoiled. I have had her since she was silver dollar size. She is 5 years old. She will only eat carrots, broccoli, celery or anything that is hard if I cut it up. She seriously snubs me if I give her lettuce to many days in a row. I am totally obsessed with these gals. We have another baby named Mr. Irwin but he would come out of the hole that day because it was going to rain. BIG BABY!!
