Jacers surgery

Jace was scheduled for surgery at 12:00 but we didn't get in until after 2. Again he waited patiently and didn't ask for anything to eat. He hadn't eaten since 10 the night before. Surgery lasted a little over 3 hours and everything went as planned. They went through the groin with a catheter and place a stint in the valve that was moved in his previous surgery. The valve was not opening so it was creating blockage which led to the veins in his neck bulging out. The stint is one that if his vein gets bigger as he grows they can go in with a catheter and expand the stint to fit properly. Another minor procedure but we will hope the Doctor is right when he says that probably won't need to happen. The only thing we need to watch is that it is a foreign object and his body could reject it. I feel good with the whole outcome and am pretty sure his body will accept the stint. Thanks to our wonderful home teachers Todd and Alex for coming to give Jace a blessing. I know the doctors were guided in making the right decision. Thanks to every one for your continued prayers and thoughts. He is doing amazing.

It's no wonder Jace likes going to the hospital. They have a Wii and we don't.

Out like a light

Just out of surgery

After surgery he had to lay flat on his back with his leg strapped down so he couldn't move it for 6 hours to control bleeding.

I had to take this picture, it was just so cute. It was his first time walking after surgery and his nurse Jody was giving him a sticker.

Beautiful day ended not so good

We woke Sunday morning with the plans to go hiking around the Gold Butte area. The weather was beautiful and so we grabbed some snack and the other half of the Williams Crew (Jason/Tonya family) and headed out. I think we did more driving than hiking this time because we couldn't find the turn to Sheep Herders Panel were we wanted to go. Finally we found it out off we went. The kids love climbing on the rock formations and enjoying the weather. We then went back to the truck and did some shooting. Jason and their family headed back home and we decided to stay and finish shooting. On our way home the boys normally ride on the back of the tailgate and sometimes jump off and run behind and then jump back on. Well this time Tyler decided to run beside the truck on an embankment. He got to close to the edge and ended up sliping and getting pinned between the embankment and the truck tire. Luckly we were only going about 5 miles an hour. The worst scream I have ever heard came out of my child the minute it happened. We thought he had been ran over. I can't even describe the emotion a parent feels at that moment. After careful assesment realizing he had not been ran over we loaded him in the truck for the long journey home. With lots of prayer we are thankful that he is ok. He has lots of scrapes and bruises and still can't put pressure on his right hip. They didn't see anything broken on the x-ray but said that sometimes a hair line fracture in kids takes a few days to show up. We will hope for the best and give him lots of hugs and kisses along the way. I am so proud of my little man. He calmed right down and was able to tell us where he hurt. He then asked for a blessing as soon as we were in town. His very next words were "Mom am I going to have to miss my flag football game tomorrow?" Kids, they know what's important. I am so grateful I have the knowledge of the gospel and know the Lord was with us that day. My prayers to Him were answered and I will never forget the great debt I owe him for my sons life and the comfort he gave me to know how to take care of him during our long ride home. I love the gospel with all my heart and have a firm testimony of faith and prayer. Thanks to all of you who came rushing to our aid.

This is why they call it Sheep Herders Panel. There is a ton of Petroglyphs on this rock wall. We were very careful to not let the kids touch the petroglyphs because the oil from your hands will ruin them.

Ty shooting the 22

Gino thinks he can out shoot me but we all know better.

Jayman shooting the BB gun

Brok shooting his 22 and I'm shooting the 357. I'm pretty sure I shot the bottle first but Brok may tell you a different story. He just doesn't want people to know his mom's a pretty good aim.

Ty's first and hopefully last IV ever

Paytans last drill team performance

Paytan has been in drill team since October and has loved every minute of it. She is a wonderful dancer and I love watching her. She definetly doesn't get her moves from her mother. It must come from the Williams side. Their last performance was at the High School Drill team review and they did a wonderful job. Way to go girls!!

I can't believe I have a 14 year old. Brok is an amazing young man. He is always willing to help his siblings. Brok loves being with his friends, riding his peddle bike and motorcycle, he loves hiking and climbing, shooting, spending alot of time with his new buddy Tank, any type of sports and anything else that gets him out of house work. He is a great example to his brothers and sister and loves his calling in church. Brok is well on his way to becoming an amazing missionary. Love you Buddy!!

Broks Wrestling tournament

Brok first match was against Ty Rappeleye and he won by points on that one. The next match he wrestled another kid and lost a few points because it was coligate and not freestyle. OOPS!! We thought it was freestyle on Friday night. He did a great job and wrestled hard. He ended up getting 2nd place. Good Job Brok!!!

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much..
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom .

My ultimate favorite

I didn't see this picture until after I posted my last blog. This is hilarious! I have no idea where she gets this from.

My goofy girl

When Paytan gets ahold of the camera there's no tellin what kind of pictures she will take. She took these pictures of herself which she does quite frequently. The ones with the glasses are so funny. She really does look cute in her glasses when she's normal. I love you Payters thanks for always making me laugh.

Camping

We were so glad that Shawn, Tara and the girls joined us for the weekend. The weather was cold and windy but we did manage to get a hike in. Hopefully we can do it again when the weather is good. Anyone else want to join us?

Hiking and riding with Dad

Gino took the 3 younger kids hiking while I went to church and Brok stayed home with the flu. The weather was awesome and they had a great time.

Julie tagged me

This is Tylers birthday cake that I made for his 8th birthday. The cake (I think) turned out pretty cute or is it the boys that make it look so dang cute.

Playing in the snow

So while I stayed home and taught school Gino and the boys went to the snow. Paytan decided to stay warm and hang out with her friends.
